Trip to PCB

This is just my first foray into blogging. I am doing it to try to overcome some serious writer's block. The "inner critic" is making it hard to write even a paragraph, despite now having a few glimmers of ideas.

I can also write about real life, so I am not sure why I haven't been writing. Of course, time is really crunched right now and it looks as though I am going to be looking for a THIRD job. Yep, third. Coz right now money is also tight. What's with that??

We did just blow about 600 on a trip to PCB. Originally we were going to stay at our former neighbors, but that did not work out. So we stayed at a fairly inexpensive hotel, but it still costs. Between that and eats, plus going to the "Ripley's believe it or not museum," we spent more than intended. And no, I did not get a souvenir. Weird.

But also, the trip was disappointing. PCB is ugly. It really really is ugly. The beaches are covered with either high rise hotels crammed closely together, or truly hideous, run-down old condos. Parts of the city itself look like a war zone. It is one of the ugliest places on earth. Biloxi, MS, is prettier. At least you can see some of the beach when you drive by, and for the most part, Biloxi is clean.

Driving back from PCB was beautiful, and we drove through 3 truly beautiful locations (wish we'd stayed at one of those): Sandestin, Destin, and Ft Walton Beach. Live and learn!
